Isopterra is a Germany-based architectural design and construction studio working on cost effective and sustainable building solutions across Ghana. We build with compressed earth blocks (CEB), rammed earth and other climate-responsive techniques.

Our work is rooted in collaboration. As a Ghanaian-German team, we work alongside local earth builders, bringing together traditional knowledge, practical experience, and contemporary design. What began with our first project, the Zero KM House in Butre, evolved into an ongoing opportunity to exchange ideas, refine techniques, and develop locally grounded solutions together.

Looking ahead, our vision is to expand the impact of earth construction by delivering projects that demonstrate the potential of sustainable, locally sourced building materials. We see every project as a step towards a more sustainable and environmentally conscious world.

Whether you are a client, collaborator, researcher, student, or simply passionate about sustainable architecture, we would love to hear from you. Explore our projects, discover our approach, and see how you can be part of this transformative journey towards more sustainable, locally grounded architecture.

Welcome to Isopterra.

Inspired by nature and the urgency of climate change, we aim to design energy-efficient homes in Ghana. Learning from termites, known for their efficient nests using organic materials. We seek to create sustainable, cost-efficient and attractive homes using local renewable resources. Our focus is on reviving traditional building methods while ensuring practicality and recyclability.
